COVID-19 Vaccine Challenges & Progress: A Global Health Perspective from Singapore

Poh Lian Lim, MD, MPH, a global expert on COVID vaccination efforts, will present "COVID-19 Vaccine Challenges & Progress: A Global Health Perspective from Singapore" on Thursday, April 22 at 7:30 p.m.

Dr. Lim is the director for the High-Level Isolation Unit at the National Centre for Infectious Diseases in Singapore, as well as an American ID physician who works in Singapore.

Born in Malaysia, Dr. Lim moved to Singapore in 2003 with her family. She became actively involved during the SARS outbreak, and has worked in outbreak preparedness and response for the past 18 years.

Dr. Lim continues to serve as a front-line ID clinician caring for COVID-19 patients. As a member of Singapore’s Expert Committee, she helped develop the national framework for COVID-19 vaccine evaluation & prioritization, and advises on Singapore’s vaccination rollout. She also serves on the Independent Allocation of Vaccines Group (IAVG) for COVAX, a collaboration between WHO, GAVI, and CEPI, whose goal is to improve access to COVID-19 vaccines worldwide.

Dr. Lim served on the Steering Committee for the Global Outbreak Alert & Response Network (GOARN), the post-Ebola Advisory Group for WHO Reform, and on the UN Secretary General’s Global Health Crises Taskforce. She currently chairs the WHO Technical Advisory Group for Biosecurity & Health Security Interface.
