IMPACT WV program introduces multiple mini-grant opportunities

The IMPACT WV program at the WVU Center for Excellence in Disabilities is excited to announce three new mini-grant opportunities. These grants will support innovative projects focused on individual and family experiences with substance use, particularly for families with young children (0-5 years). We invite applications for these funding opportunities to drive meaningful change in our communities.

 


IMPACT WV Mini-Grant Call for Applications

Funding details:

  • Total grants available: 4
  • Grant amount: $10,000 each

Project timeline: Projects can either be ongoing or new initiatives that can be completed within one year.

Eligibility:

  • Applicants must be affiliated with a nonprofit organization, local government or educational institution.
  • Projects should address challenges related to substance use and its impact on individuals and families, with a specific emphasis on families with young children.
  • Applications proposing activities in one or more of eight counties served by the IMPACT WV program will be prioritized. These counties include: Ohio, Marshall, Wetzel, Marion, Harrison, Monongalia, Preston, and Taylor.

Application requirements:

To be considered for funding, applicants should submit the following:

  1. Project title
  2. Project description: Briefly outline the goals, objectives and expected outcomes of the project.
  3. Target audience: Describe the population that will be served, particularly focusing on families with young children.
  4. Implementation plan: Detail the methodology and timeline for project execution.
  5. Budget: Provide a clear budget outline of how the grant funds will be utilized.
  6. Evaluation plan: Explain how the effectiveness of the project will be measured and evaluated.

Deadline for applications:

All applications must be received by June 1, 2025. Late submissions will not be considered.

Research Showcase and Collaboration Projects Funding Opportunity at the WVU CED

A funding opportunity aimed at supporting research, training and/or initiatives that examine or support individual and family experiences with substance use, with a particular focus on families with young children (0-5 years). We are inviting applications for projects that will advance our understanding and foster solutions in this critical area.

Funding details:

  • Total awards available: 4
  • Award amount: $10,000 each

Project timeline: Projects can either be ongoing or new initiatives that can be completed within one year.

Eligibility:

  • Applications are welcomed from researchers, students, nonprofit organizations, educational institutions and community agencies with a focus on substance use and its impact on families, particularly those with young children.
  • Applications proposing activities in one or more of eight counties served by the IMPACT WV program will be prioritized. These counties include: Ohio, Marshall, Wetzel, Marion, Harrison, Monongalia, Preston, and Taylor.

Application requirements:

To be considered for funding, applicants should submit the following:

  1. Project title
  2. Project overview: A clear and concise description of the research or collaboration initiative, including its relevance to substance use and family experiences.
  3. Target population: Details about the individuals and families who will be involved in or benefit from the project, emphasizing young children and their families.

  5. Budget proposal: A detailed budget indicating how the $10,000 award will be allocated.

Small Grant Support for Transportation Costs Call for Applications

A funding opportunity aimed at supporting agencies that provide essential services to individuals and families in need. This small grant support is specifically designed to cover transportation costs for clients who require assistance in accessing services within your agency.

Funding details:

  • Total grants available: 8
  • Grant amount: $15,000 each

Funding purpose: To assist individuals and/or families who are experiencing substance use, particularly families with young children (0 to 5 years), and who are seeking services at your agency but facing costs associated with transportation.

Eligibility:

  • Applications are welcomed from nonprofit organizations, community agencies and service providers that directly support individuals and families.
  • Agencies must have established policies to identify clients in need of transportation support.
  • Applications proposing activities in one or more of eight counties served by the IMPACT WV program will be prioritized. These counties include: Ohio, Marshall, Wetzel, Marion, Harrison, Monongalia, Preston, and Taylor.

Application requirements:

  • To be considered for this grant, agencies must submit:
  • Agency information: Name, address and contact information.
  • Description of services: Brief overview of the services provided by your agency and how transportation is a barrier for your clients.
  • Needs assessment: Outline the specific transportation challenges faced by your clients and how this funding will directly assist them.
  • Client designation process: Description of how your agency will identify clients in need of transportation support and the criteria for distributing funds.
  • Reporting plan: Outline how your agency will report on the distribution of funds and demonstrate the needs of clients who receive transportation assistance.
