Training, education to be offered on Save a Life Day

The Monongalia County Quick Response Team (QRT) is hosting Save a Life Day Saturday, May 7, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at various locations in Monongalia County. After training individuals and distributing more than 700 two-dose kits of naloxone in the fall, the team has a goal of handing out more than 2,000 doses of the drug also called Narcan, which reverses the effects of an opioid overdose.

In addition to teaching naloxone administration and giving away free kits, COVID-19 vaccines and rapid HIV testing will be offered at some locations.
