WVU Charleston Division medical students host annual Gold Humanism Summit
The WVU Charleston Division welcomed guests and presenters to the annual West Virginia Gold Humanism Summit March 23rd. The event titled “Appalachian Healthcare: Meeting the Needs of Patients and Communities” examined Appalachians as an invisible minority, and discuss common obstacles faced in the area including poverty, mental illness, addiction, limited access to healthcare, and coal-related health issues. Charleston Division medical students organized the event.
