  • Behavioral and Biomedical Sciences

    The Behavioral and Biomedical Sciences training plan incorporates core coursework in behavioral neuroscience methods, epidemiology, biostatistics and informatics. Research training and experiential learning activities develop critical thinking and leadership skills. Unique to this program is the opportunity for clinical shadowing to highlight the translational potential of behavioral and neuroscience research.

  • Stroke and Its Alzheimer’s Disease Related Dementias (ADRD)

    An intensive graduate training program in stroke and its Alzheimer's disease related dementias, such as cardiovascular disease, cerebrovascular disease, diabetes, aging, immune suppression, etc. The training program incorporates coursework in the neurosciences, stroke, aging and diseases of aging, experiential learning activities and clinical immersions, all intended to produce a well-rounded stroke research scientists.

  • Cell and Molecular Biology and Biomedical Engineering

    The primary objectives of this training program are to provide a highly interactive research environment for faculty and students with a focus on cell biology, molecular biology and biomedical engineering; to provide training in state-of-the-art approaches to problems in cell biology, molecular biology and biomedical engineering; and to provide experiences to enhance professional and career development.

  • Systems Toxicology

    The Systems Toxicology Predoctoral Training Program provides training at the interface of systems physiology, environmental exposures and toxicology. It draws on graduate faculty in our Biomedical Sciences Training Programs at the WVU Health Sciences Center with strong training and research backgrounds as preceptors; resulting in an outstanding range of approaches to the understanding of interaction of physiological systems and toxicities.
