WVU has the state’s only comprehensive academic medical center and is one of only 11 universities in the country that offers five distinct professional health schools located on a shared Health Sciences campus. Our health priorities are tied to the needs of our citizens, and we partner with other universities, hospitals and clinics, state and federal agencies, and health organizations across West Virginia to address the issues West Virginians are facing.
Learn as a team guided by skilled clinicians and scientists.
Here, students learn alongside clinicians, researchers and peers from other health professions through WVU's nationally recognized interprofessional education program, preparing them to collaborate across disciplines to improve health outcomes by the bedside, in the operating room, and with a care team. Whether you’re pursuing a clinical or research career, you’ll graduate with real-world experience and a network that helps you get hired.
Practice before you practice with advanced simulation technology.
When it comes to patient care, experience is everything. At our world-class WV STEPS Simulation Training Center, our students learn life-saving procedures, develop analytical skills, foster interprofessional communication, and train in a safe setting with state-of-the-art patient simulators that range from premature babies to adults - all before encountering real life critical care situations.
