2025–2026 Health Professions Grand Rounds Series

The Office of Faculty Development is proud to continue its partnership with the Department of Medical Education, the Office of Interprofessional Education, and the Medical Education and Administration Fellowship Program to present the 2025–2026 Health Professions Grand Rounds Series.

This collaborative series brings together educators from across the Health Sciences Center to build community, share best practices, and engage with dynamic speakers from WVU and institutions nationwide. Sessions highlight emerging trends, innovative strategies, and impactful scholarships in health professions education.

As part of the series, we will continue to feature Educational Morbidity and Mortality (M&M) sessions. In this interactive format, a de-identified challenging educational case is presented for discussion. Participants will explore what worked well, identify opportunities for improvement, and examine key educational leadership principles, policies, and practical strategies. These sessions are designed to equip educators with the tools and insight needed to confidently navigate similar challenges in their own academic and clinical teaching environments.

Why Attend an Educational M&M Session?

Through the discussion of de-identified cases, participants explore what went well, identify areas for growth, and examine leadership skills, communication strategies, and institutional policies that shape effective educational practice.

These interactive sessions foster shared learning, strengthen decision-making skills, and equip educators with practical tools to confidently navigate complex situations in academic and clinical training settings.
