AHEC Scholars pack lunches for rural students in need
Two WV Area Health Education Centers (AHEC) Rural Community Health Scholars selected from the West Virginia University School of Nursing Keyser Campus are already hard at work giving back to the rural community.
Emily Golden and Jessica Maynard, both juniors in the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program, recently packed more than 500 lunches for the Food for Thought program.
"Food for Thought is a community-based organization which provides weekend food to students at seven Mineral County Schools," shared Sally Bartling, Pastor of Trinity Lutheran Church in Keyser. "Founded in 2009, Food for Thought serves over 500 students. Food is packed weekly and distributed to students."
