Health & Healthcare
We advance Food is Medicine approaches that connect local-sourced, nutritious food and nutrition supports with healthcare and community health. Through partnerships with healthcare organizations, community-based organizations, and other stakeholders, we support the development, implementation, and evaluation of interventions that strengthen nutrition security, prevent and manage diet-related disease, and connect individuals with the resources needed to improve health.

Food Systems & Values-Based Procurement
We strengthen the food-system infrastructure needed to sustain Food is Medicine by connecting healthcare organizations, institutions, communities, and West Virginia farmers and food businesses. Through values-based procurement, farm-to-institution strategies, producer development, and regional food-system partnerships, we work to ensure that investments in nutritious food also strengthen local economies, expand market opportunities, and build resilient communities.
