Endodontics researcher honored with prestigious award

In recognition of his contributions to endodontic research, Dr. Hamid Jafarzadeh Bakooei was recently honored with an award by the American Association of Endodontics at its annual meeting in Boston.

Dr. Jafarzadeh was presented with the JOE Paper of the Year Award for Clinical Research for his publication titled “Long-Term Outcome of Horizontal Root Fractures in Permanent Teeth: A Retrospective Cohort Study.” Study co-authors include Dr. Mahshid Sheikhnezami, Dr. Reza Shahmohammadi and Dr. Amir Azarpazhooh.

Jafarzadeh is currently training in the West Virginia University School of Dentistry advanced education program in Endodontics.

The JOE Publication Awards are presented to authors of published papers in the Journal of Endodontics, the official publication of the American Association of Endodontists, that demonstrate innovative thought and significant advancements in the field of endodontics. The awards represent seven categories and are presented annually at the Scientific Advisory Board Reception during the AAE Annual Meeting.
