WVU School of Nursing Bridgeport Campus graduates earn 100% first-time licensure pass rate

BRIDGEPORT, W. Va. — The first graduates of the West Virginia University School of Nursing Bridgeport Campus have earned a 100% first-time pass rate on their National Council Licensure Examination - Registered Nurse (NCLEX-RN), the nationwide licensing examination for registered nurses.

The official results from National Council of State Boards of Nursing show that all of the August 2024 Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing (ABSN) graduates at Bridgeport Campus passed their exam on the first attempt.

“Our first graduating class was a truly exceptional group of students,” said Dr. Veronica Gallo, Bridgeport Campus Chair. “These 15 graduates set the bar high for our future cohorts and we are very proud of their accomplishment.”

The ABSN program is an 18-month accelerated program for current bachelor’s degree holders who wish to become baccalaureate-prepared registered nurses. The program is offered on both the Bridgeport and Morgantown campus locations of the WVU School of Nursing.

All the 2024 graduates from the Morgantown ABSN program also received a 100% first-time pass rate on the NCLEX.

“The first-time pass rate among our accelerated BSN students illustrates the excellence in education across our campus locations,” said Dr. Tara Hulsey, Dean and E. Jane Martin Endowed Professor. “Our graduates are well prepared for success, both in passing their NCLEX and in launching their nursing careers.”
