Dr. Christopher Martin delivers endowed lecture in Ireland

Christopher Martin, M.D., professor in the Schools of Medicine and Public Health, delivered an endowed lecture at this year's Royal College of Physicians of Ireland (RCPI) Smiley Symposium on Nov. 14.

The Smiley Lecture is an annual lecture presented by the RCPI Faculty of Occupational Medicine in honor of Dr. James A. Smiley, Ireland’s first industrial health specialist. 

Dr. Martin also received an honorary membership into the Irish Faculty of Occupational Medicine. 

With family roots in Ireland, this honorary membership holds special meaning for Martin.

“My family on both sides are from Ireland, and my father was born in Dublin, so to receive this honor is deeply meaningful for me both personally as well as professionally," Martin said.
