New employee experiences to be gathered through survey

An anonymous survey launching this week aims to gather honest information about the experiences of employees when they transitioned both to living in the Morgantown area and working at Health Sciences.

Sponsored by the HSC Cross Cutting Programs DEI Subcommittee on Welcome and Inclusion, the New Employee Transition Survey will complement a community and campus resources list now available online.

“Without a doubt this survey is going to broaden the scope of our efforts to be more supportive of folks new to working at Health Sciences,” noted subcommittee chair Joanna DiStefano, Program Manager in the HSC Global Engagement Office (GEO). “Sharing those memorable experiences — good, bad, and everything in between — helps us not only better understand what’s working well and what needs improvement, but also provides a strong basis for future action.”

By the end of the year, the HSC Cross Cutting Programs DEI Subcommittee on Welcome and Inclusion will share a report of aggregate survey results with the Health Sciences community, in addition to issuing recommendations to leadership for improvements based on the data collected.

On Sept. 1, all Health Sciences employees hired within the past two years will receive an email notification inviting them to participate in the New Employee Transition Survey. The survey will remain open through Sept. 30.
