New Year message from dental school alumni association president

Shares a look ahead at spring alumni weekend

Greetings from YOUR Dental School Alumni Association! I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday season and your 2023 has been great to you so far!

As the New Year is upon us, we have some great news to share!

Dr. Kerri SimpsonFirst, we are back at the Waterfront Marriott this April for our Spring Alumni Association CE and event. The save the dates have been sent out, and please keep an eye out for the dates and information to continue in emails, newsletters, and social media posts.

We are extremely honored this year to have Dr. Ashley Clark, Board Certified Oral Pathologist, to share her expertise on oral lesions, intraoral examinations and biopsies. She has recently lectured across the country in multiple states and societies and has received numerous awards and honors. The CE will take place April 21st with the dinner/dance that evening. Keep a look out for more information!

Second, I want to thank the entire Alumni for all your continuous love and support. The students have been so grateful for the support that you all have provided. I feel they are more involved and aware of what we offer thanks to our great team at the school. They know answers to “pop quizzes” about our Board of Governors before getting prizes (thanks Cathy!), they now ask to help or be a part of our association before graduating, and anytime there is food or snacks during hard times (finals, boards, etc.), they are ever so appreciative. This wouldn’t be possible without the support from all of you! From the bottom of my heart, Thank You!

I am looking forward to seeing all of you in April! If you want to reach out or need anything from me, please do not hesitate. Kthomas5@mix.wvu.edu (and yes, I still have my Mix account).
