Nursing faculty member receives Evidence-based Practice Certification

Angel Smothers, a Clinical Associate Professor with the WVU School of Nursing, has successfully passed the EBP Certification Knowledge Test and achieved the Evidence-based Practice Certification. She is the first in the state of West Virginia to reach this achievement.

With her passage of the program, Smothers holds an Evidence-based Practice Certification from the Helene Fuld Health Trust National Institute for Evidence-based Practice in Nursing and Healthcare.

The added knowledge, skills, and attitudes that she has achieved will prepare her to serve in leadership roles within healthcare and academic institutions to lead the adoption and implementation of evidence-based practice concepts to strengthen quality healthcare.

Smothers has earned the credential, EBP-C, for three years.
