Remembering Karen Manzo, PhD, MPH
Dr. Karen Manzo, research associate with the Office of Health Affairs and an alumna of the School of Public Health, passed away Jan. 4.
In addition to fulfilling other responsibilities, Karen was serving as a principal investigator on two Health Affairs contracts. She was a three-time WVU graduate, earning her PhD in Public Health Sciences in 2015; an MPH (1998); and a B.S. in medical technology.
Prior to joining the Health Affairs team, Karen served as project director for a CDC-funded chronic disease prevention project, “Good Health & Wellness in Indian Country,” with the Montana-Wyoming Tribal Leaders Council in Billings, Montana. She had a special interest in youth suicide prevention and the health effects related to historical trauma.

The Office of Health Affairs is hosting a Remembrance Meeting for Karen via Zoom on Wednesday, Jan. 12, from 2-2:50 p.m., and you are welcome to join. Details to access the meeting have been provided to all SPH faculty and staff via email.
