Rural Family Medicine Residency Program welcomes newly-matched residents for 2025
The West Virginia University Department of Family Medicine Eastern Division will welcome six newly-matched residents to the Rural Family Medicine Residency Program in July.
The program welcomes incoming residents Hillary Dodyk from A.T. Still University, Lexi Fritts from West Virginia University, Kyle Hamilton from the Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine, Michael Sutton from West Virginia University, Jennah Syed from the Geisinger Commonwealth School of Medicine, and Jeremy Margarette Vidal from Virginia Commonwealth University.
“We are excited to once again welcome another highly-talented group of young physicians to the Rural Family Medicine Residency Program in Harpers Ferry,” said residency program director Angela Cherry, M.D. “I look forward to working closely with each of our six new residents over the next three years as they explore the fascinating field of rural and community-based medicine.”
The Rural Family Medicine Residency Program is a three-year, ACGME-accredited residency program that provides full-spectrum family medicine training in a unique rural setting.
Residents of the program practice primarily at Harpers Ferry Family Medicine, a clinic that sees more than 30,000 patients per year. Residents also do inpatient rotations at Jefferson Medical Center in Ranson, additional training at Berkeley Medical Center in Martinsburg and inpatient pediatrics rotations at J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown.
