HSTA Fall Professional Development Workshop

Our primary professional development event is the HSTA Fall Professional Development Workshop for teachers and FSCs. During this full-day session, participants:

  • Learn about the HSTA structure and mission

  • Gain strategies for mentoring and leading after-school clubs

  • Explore how to guide students in conducting community-based research that meets Institutional Review Board (IRB) standards

What to Expect

Teachers and FSCs engage in hands-on activities that:

  • Reflect elements of the after-school club experience

  • Emphasize HSTA’s focus on research and community impact

  • Foster networking, storytelling, and sharing of best practices
