Summer Institute

Summer Institute is like summer camp — but with hands-on science, college life, and tons of fun!
Incoming freshmen, sophomores, juniors, and seniors each attend different institutes at colleges and universities across the state.

Your HSTA Journey by Year

  • Freshmen: Explore a variety of STEM+M (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math, and Medicine) activities. Get introduced to HSTA and community-based research.

  • Sophomores: Dive into a focused experience (e.g., forensics, coding, engineering). Build skills to develop community-based research projects.

  • Juniors: Participate in an NIH SEPA–funded health-focused experience. Study topics like pathology, anatomy, sociology, or public health in depth.

  • Seniors: Attend a three-week camp focused on college preparation and math skill development.
