WVU School of Dentistry awarded grant for Walk, Talk, Chalk project

The West Virginia University School of Dentistry has been awarded a grant by Mountains of Hope to provide oral healthcare education and improve overall well-being in the community. Supported by the school’s Wellness and Well-being Committee, the project – Walk, Talk, Chalk – aims to promote cancer prevention by educating participants about tobacco cessation and encouraging healthy behaviors while engaging in physical activity.

Mindfulness Summer Series begins May 22

The Health Sciences Center’s Mindfulness team is offering a free summer series designed to help students, faculty, and staff cultivate peace of mind, presence, and personal growth.

School of Nursing student makes WVU Women’s Track and Field program history

Olivia Cress, a WVU School of Nursing student who balances her time between academics and athletics on the WVU Women’s Track & Field team, recently made program history placing in the top 5 for the programs pentathlon event. She shared her journey to being a nursing student and how she balances that with track.

WVU Health Sciences partnership with First Presbyterian aims to help the community through outreach and screenings

The WVU School of Nursing, the WVU School of Pharmacy, the WVU School of Medicine, and First Presbyterian Church have collaborated to provide clinical service as an outreach program for people experiencing homelessness and poverty in the Morgantown area. Some of the services include checking vital signs, blood glucose screenings, glaucoma screenings, health education and pharmaceutical education.
