Health Sciences digital and web support process updated to enhance service and efficiency
To streamline digital communications and provide more specialized support, the WVU Health Sciences web team is now the primary point of contact for web and digital-related support requests for all Health Sciences and associated school websites. Requests related to any of the Health Sciences and associated school websites that were previously submitted through the WVU ITS ticketing system should now be directed to the Health Sciences web team.
NOTICE: Brief water disruption at Health Sciences April 2
At approximately 2:15 p.m. today, HSC Facilities experienced a brief water disruption after a construction crew working for WVU Medicine on Van Voorhis Road damaged a water main. As a result, several WVU buildings, including the Health Sciences Center, reported low water pressure.
NOTICE: Air Handling Unit repair scheduled for March 31
HSC Facilities will be conducting repairs to the Air Handling Unit serving Health Sciences Center(HSC) North from Mon. March 31, through Wed. April 2, 2025. The repair involves addressing failing bearings in the blower assembly.
NOTICE: Emergency steam line outage scheduled for Tues. March 25
HSC Facilities is scheduling an emergency steam line outage for Tues. March 25 starting at 5:00 a.m. to repair a leak in the ceiling of the basement floor hallway past room B557.
WVU Health Sciences transitions to updated web addresses
WVU Health Sciences is updating its website URLs to enhance security and accessibility. Moving forward, official Health Sciences websites should be accessed using health.wvu.edu instead of hsc.wvu.edu. Note that the "www" prefix is no longer used.
WVU assessing damage following weekend storms
West Virginia University issued a Community Notice Sunday (March 16) as damage assessments continued in the aftermath of severe thunderstorms.
NOTICE: HSC South, WVU Cancer Institute Impacted by water line break - Update
On Tuesday, March 4, WVU Facilities was made aware of an internal water line break occurring during the early morning hours and impacting Health Sciences South and several associated clinical areas, including the Cancer Institute.
NOTICE: HSC Water line repair scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 22nd has been completed.
WVU Health Sciences Facilities has completed repair of the 8” water main line near parking area 80. Due to opening the line up for repair there is a chance for air bubbles that will work their way out as water is consumed in the building. This should be temporary with limited impact on the facility based on preparation and Facilities Maintenance flushing the piping system before introducing water back into the building.

WVU Facilities crews have temporarily repaired the water main leak near Parking Lot 80 and have restored water to the building.
NOTICE: HSC water line repair underway; Outage for HSC North and South will begin at approximately 8:30 a.m. (Mon., Feb. 10)
On Thursday, Feb. 6, WVU Facilities was made aware of an external main water line break. Our investigation has led to a leak in the 16” main water line under Parking Lot 84 on the north side of the building. We anticipate a loss of water in the building during the repair process.
