WVU Department of Urology announces partnership to benefit first-generation students
Undergraduate students who identify as first-generation, underrepresented minorities who hope to pursue careers in medicine are eligible to apply to a new mentoring program offered by the West Virginia University Department of Urology and the Mid-Atlantic American Urological Association’s Pre-Medicine Enrichment Program.
WVU to close Dec. 30
The closure decision follows Gov. Jim Justice’s signing of two proclamations last week declaring additional half-day state holidays on Friday, Dec. 23, and Friday, Dec. 30.
‘Community of Giving’ pop-up shop to offer regifting option after the holidays
After the hustle and bustle of the holiday season settles, many people find that they’ve received duplicate gifts or items they can’t utilize. Passing it on to another person is a great way to recycle a gift. The WVU Health Sciences Community of Giving pop-up shop will provide an opportunity for students, faculty and staff to regift items after the holiday season.

Eastern Campus welcomes new simulations specialist Charles Morris
Charles Morris, MREM, AAS, BSN, joined the West Virginia University School of Medicine Eastern Campus as a simulations specialist for the Birthing Simulation Lab located at the Health Sciences Center Eastern Division in Martinsburg, West Virginia in November.
Van Liere Research Conference now accepting abstracts
The 2023 Van Liere Research Conference is now accepting abstracts from all WVU Health Sciences students for the poster sessions and oral presentation/concurrent sessions.
