Future of Nursing WV Center for Nurse Entrepreneurship receives $50,000 to advance health equity
The awards are for projects offering promising solutions aimed at eliminating structural inequities, particularly structural racism, within the nursing profession, health systems, or community, and for projects that help improve access to care and services for those most disproportionately impacted by health disparities.

Karen Avey has been a practicing dental hygienist for 39 years. She received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Dental Hygiene in 1984 from West Virginia University School of Dentistry and began practicing clinical dental hygiene.
