Explore equity, advocacy during Global Health Week at WVU
Sponsored by the West Virginia University School of Medicine Global Health Program and Health Sciences Global Engagement Office, Global Health Week will be held Sept. 19-23. Featuring speakers from across the United States, this year’s topics include COVID-19 pandemic response and vaccine equity, landmine eradication, global critical care and international aid.
Student Nurses' Association gauging interest in group trip to Fright Farm
The WVU Student Nurses' Association is gauging interest of students, faculty and staff for a group trip to Fright Farm. The trip would include tickets to the hayride and haunted mansion, as well as a group tent with food, games and more.
WVU in the News: Beckley nursing student keys in on drug prevention training
Carley Knuckles, a junior nursing student at the West Virginia University School of Nursing Beckley Campus, recently attended the 21st Annual Mid-Year Training Institute hosted by Community Anti-Drug Coalitions of America (CADCA), which aims to create and maintain safe, healthy and drug-free communities globally.

WVU School of Nursing Dean Tara Hulsey re-elected as president of state RN board
Tara Hulsey, WVU School of Nursing Dean and E. Jane Martin Endowed Professor, has been re-elected as the president of the West Virginia Board of Examiners for Registered Professional Nurses. Additionally, Teresa Ritchie, coordinator of the Family Nurse Practitioner Program, has been re-elected as secretary of the board. Leslie Perine, a WVU School of Nursing alum and nurse at WVU Medicine United Hospital Center, has also been appointed to serve as a board member.
