WVU Health Affairs Institute designated state’s first public health institute

WVU Health Affairs Institute, formerly the Office of Health Affairs, is joining the National Network of Public Health Institutes as the first member representing West Virginia. This designation benefits the University and state through national visibility, resource networks, technical assistance and direct funding opportunities.

Stopping at nothing to fulfill her purpose as a nurse

As a native of the Beckley area, Richmond eagerly enrolled at the WVU School of Nursing Beckley Campus after graduating from Woodrow Wilson High School. She was progressing well through the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program until she started having some medical issues in late 2019. She was a first semester senior at the time.

Student researchers present oral health findings at annual competition

Whether it was about remineralization, obstructive sleep apnea or barriers to dental care, West Virginia University School of Dentistry’s Class of 2024 students confidently took to the podium to share their findings at the 55th annual dental school alumni association research competition.
