LGBTQ+ Center Faculty and Staff Connections
The LGBTQ+ Center will again host their Faculty and Staff Connections series during the Spring 2022 semester. The Center will follow a hybrid model, with two events taking place in person and four events occurring online. During these events, LGBTQ+ faculty and staff are encouraged to not only network and socialize, but also to share their LGBTQ+ related research and initiatives with the community.

NIH awards WVU $2 million to study link between Alzheimer’s disease, chronic stress
One in nine Americans age 65 or older has Alzheimer’s disease, according to the Alzheimer’s Association. That’s about 6.2 million people. If current trends continue, that number will likely swell to 12.7 million by 2050. Paul Chantler—a researcher with the West Virginia University School of Medicine—is working to change those trends.
WVU experts available for comment throughout legislative session
West Virginia University experts are available to media members for expert comment on topics that affect state residents, both in response to the State of the State document and throughout the 2022 legislative session.

In this Rehabilitation Oncology Podcast episode, Dr. Steve Morris interviews author and researcher Dr. Nicole Stout about oncology physical therapy specialty practice. Dr. Stout outlines the expectations for future clinical specialists and presents a call to action to the rehabilitation team to utilize oncology clinical specialists beyond clinical roles to expand their influence on providing best practice care to the individual with cancer.
