Darmelio awarded Don Marsh Scholarship in Healthcare Writing
Sophia Darmelio, a graduate student pursuing a master’s degree in Integrated Marketing Communications at West Virginia University’s Reed College of Media, is the latest Don Marsh Scholarship recipient in Healthcare Writing. The scholarship includes a tuition waiver and a paid graduate assistantship in the University Relations office at the WVU Health Sciences Center.

In a new study, West Virginia University School of Public Health researchers found that taking part in a year-long diabetes-prevention program supports the addition of 4.4 quality-adjusted life-years to participants’ average lifespan.

WVU celebrates graduates with in-person commencement
Following a year of missed milestones, celebrations and traditions, West Virginia University’s first in-person commencement ceremony since December 2019 ushered in a renewed sense of optimism for the nearly 4,500 graduates who walked across the stage to receive their diplomas in four ceremonies this weekend (May 15-16).
