Grant aims to reduce overdose deaths by connecting substance users in the emergency department to long-term treatment and recovery resources
Patients with substance use disorder will be able to better connect with emergency department-initiated treatment programs at participating hospitals throughout the state, thanks to a partnership between West Virginia University Office of Health Affairs, Marshall University and the West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources.

PCPS issues reminder on required documentation for confirming orders
This is a reminder that when submitting a Confirming Order form in Mountaineer Marketplace a quote or agreement needs to be included along with the invoice. In the event a quote or agreement was not obtained prior to the purchase, the department will need to request this documentation from the supplier prior to submission in Mountaineer Marketplace. Confirming orders should be avoided at all costs and should be replaced by contractual payments and blanket Purchase Orders going forward.

PhD student to present work with WVU Extension during CDC national training
The 2021 CDC Division of Nutrition, Physical Activity, and Obesity National Training — Leading the Charge for a Healthier Nation — is designed for SPAN, REACH and HOP Program recipients. Hosted by the Association of State Public Health Nutritionists, the training will feature four dynamic plenary sessions and 32 breakouts. Throughout the five-day event, May 3-7, participates will have the opportunity to engage in a dynamic skills-building training and co-learning experience that will support success in helping to lead the charge for a healthier nation.
