WVU in the News: Local addiction recovery organizations partner to offer NARCAN, training to community members
Emphasizing the importance of utilizing community collaborations, the Mountaineer Recovery Center and the Berkeley County Community Outreach for Resources and Education (CORE) team are offering free NARCAN and training today in hopes of better arming those battling addiction and their loved ones against overdose deaths.
CBD and driving simulation study seeking participants
A research study is being conducted at the Health Sciences Center at West Virginia University. The purpose of the study is to determine whether CBD impacts driving performance, cognition, and sedation among healthy adults using a driving simulator. Your participation could help inform current and future public safety initiatives. Participants who complete the study will receive a $50 gift card.

WVU, CDC report week 5 results for 'MASCUP!'
The West Virginia University School of Public Health and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reported a slight decrease in the number of people who wore masks and wore them correctly during the fifth week of 'MASCUP!', an ongoing mask observation study.

The WVU Medicine Medical and Surgical Weight Loss Center at J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital has been accredited as Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery Accreditation and Quality Improvement Program (MBSAQIP®) Accreditation Center - Comprehensive Center with Obesity Medicine Qualifications by the joint Quality Program of the American College of Surgeons (ACS) and the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery (ASMBS).
