New radiology research shows promise for focused ultrasound treatment of Alzheimer’s
Rashi Mehta—a researcher with the WVU School of Medicine and Rockefeller Neuroscience Institute—and her colleagues are pursuing focused ultrasound as a treatment for Alzheimer’s disease. In a new study, Mehta used MRI scans to show what happens when ultrasound waves target a specific area of Alzheimer’s patients’ brains.
WVU to continue distributing emergency CARES grants to students
Eligible, degree-seeking students at any West Virginia University campus can receive emergency grants through the Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund II, part of the Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriations Act. WVU will continue distributing its allotted $10,087,116 in emergency grants to students who qualify.
