West Virginia University Extension Service Family and Community Development agent, Ami Cook, offers advice on how you, with a positive attitude and proper planning, can make the most of this year’s holiday season and do it safely.
West Virginia Public Theatre’s first episode of ‘Radio Theatre for Our Time’ to air Monday
Using an old and new idea, West Virginia Public Theatre created “Radio Theatre for Our Time,” a dramatization of non-dramatic text drawn from letters and speeches that have relevance in our current social conditions. The first episode Letter From A Birmingham Jail is available to stream on WV Public Theatre’s website throughout the state on Nov. 23 at 8 p.m.
Dr. Clay Marsh receives Elbert K. Fretwell Outstanding Educator Award
The Mountaineer Area Council, Boy Scouts of America awarded Clay Marsh, M.D., Vice President and Executive Dean of the West Virginia University Health Sciences, with the Elbert K. Fretwell Outstanding Educator Award.

Medication disposal protects public health
On Friday, November 20 from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., the campus community is invited to stop by the Mountainlair near Hatfield’s to safely dispose of unwanted medications. On Saturday, November 21 from 12:00-4:00 p.m., residence hall students living on the Evansdale campus are invited to leave unwanted medications at the MedSafe kiosk under the Towers canopy.
