WVU Charleston Campus Celebrates WVU Day of Giving November 13
CHARLESTON, W.Va. – WVU Day of Giving is a one-day fundraising event scheduled for Wednesday, Nov. 13, 2019, for all members of the WVU community. Alumni, students, faculty, staff and friends of West Virginia University are welcome and encouraged to participate. The goal is to engage our community to advance the mission of West Virginia University. The Day of Giving will raise critical funding to ensure the University and Charleston Campus continues to build upon our infrastructure to provide big opportunities for our students. Together — in one day — we help forge a brighter future for WVU.
Dean's next priority is Urgent Care renovations
The dental school’s main registration and waiting area is slated to become a more inviting place for patients. The Urgent Care Clinic will also be revamped if approved by the WVU Board of Governors in January.
School of Dentistry facility improvements continue
Dental school improvements have been made to the dean's office, academic and student affairs and the dental student hallway. Urgent care renovations are scheduled next.
WVU Cancer Institute names interim director
Hannah Hazard-Jenkins, M.D., associate chair of surgery for cancer services, has been named interim director of the WVU Cancer Institute, effective January 2020.
WVU, statewide partners to host policy and research symposium to address opioid crisis, Nov. 19-20
Researchers at the West Virginia University School of Public Health, in coordination with partners across the state, will bring together policy administrators, state legislators and researchers from across the state in a continued effort to combat the growing opioid epidemic.

Bob Huggins Fish Fry Fundraiser — this special evening will feature sports legends, live music, activities, and special guest Rod Thorn. Proceeds from ticket sales and auctions benefit the Norma Mae Huggins Cancer Research Endowment Fund and Remember the Miners Scholarship Fund.
WVU Cancer Institute Clinicians Present at Mountains of Hope Membership Meeting
Mountains of Hope (MOH), West Virginia’s Cancer Coalition, held its fall membership meeting on November 6, 2019 in Flatwoods, WV. Three WVUCI clinicians presented on cutting edge treatment and clinical research available at the WVUCI: Dr. Brian Boone, Dr. Hannah Hazard-Jenkins, and Dr. Geraldine Jacobson.
