School of Medicine student wins Pat Fedeles Award for Compassion

The winner of the annual Patricia “Pat” Fedeles Award for Compassion in Physical Diagnosis was presented to Christopher Feghali on March 20, 2018. This award is presented to the second-year medical student who portrays ongoing compassion, friendliness and an overall caring attitude toward patients, peers, faculty and staff.

WVU medical students received white coats March 17

The 105 members of the West Virginia University School of Medicine Class of 2020 medical students donned the most significant symbol of their chosen profession – the white coat – for the first time on Saturday, March 17.

WVU Medicine physician named Walker Chair in Pediatric Cardiology

Larry A. Rhodes, M.D., professor and pediatric cardiologist, has been named the James H. Walker, M.D. Chair in Pediatric Cardiology in the West Virginia University School of Medicine. An investiture ceremony will be held on April 2, 2018 in the Pylons Lobby of the WVU Health Sciences Center.

Health in West Virginia: The Next 150 Years

West Virginia University President E. Gordon Gee will join Health Sciences Vice President and Executive Dean Clay Marsh, M.D., and WVU Medicine-WVU Hospitals President and CEO Albert L. Wright Jr., at a Health Sciences Town Hall on Wed., March 28 at noon in Okey Patteson Auditorium. The event is free and open to the public.
