Harrison County to launch 'Last to First Together'
BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. – Leaders from across Harrison County will meet from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Monday, Sept. 14, at the Bridgeport Conference Center to plan a countywide effort to reverse poor health and move West Virginia from the bottom of national health rankings to the healthiest state in the country.
Governor asks students to participate in 'Day to Serve' campaign

HSC Interprofessional Education Speaker Series begins second year with Sept. 9 presentation
Lauri Andress, Ph.D., J.D., will present "Juggling the Dimensions of Food Access and the Impact on Diet and Nutrition: Perceptions of Low-Income Residents in West Virginia." The discussion will cover focus group results from WIC clients and a community-based care project funded by a grant from the Claude Worthington Benedum Foundation.
WVU scientist appointed to NASA committee
WVU health researcher Michael McCawley, Ph.D., has been selected for membership on the Dust Risk Standing Review Panel for NASA.
Johns Hopkins surgeon-in-chief to present at HSC Sept. 16
The WVU Department of Surgery will host Grand Rounds at 8 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 16, in room 4080 of Health Sciences North. The 2015 Gordon F. Murray, M.D., Visiting Professor Robert S.D. Higgins, M.D., will present “Surgery for the Next Generation…Generational Change in the Time of Accountability."
