WVU School of Nursing Beckley Campus professors Cynthia Clark and Linda Angus recently helped showcase how “science meets creativity” during interactive sessions at GEARUP and STEM camps.
WVU in the News: WVU RNI to lead nationwide effort to improve care for traumatic brain injury patients
Dr. Javier Cárdenas, chief of the RNI’s Division of Sports Neurology and director of the RNI Concussion and Brain Injury Center, said a $300,000 grant from the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) Foundation will support efforts to showcase and expand the program already in use at RNI.

Now, new research adds another concern for teens, parents, and health professionals: tobacco use, including e-cigarettes, may significantly increase the risk of poor mental health in teens.

WVU School of Nursing faculty, staff participate in Pittsburgh Marathon Relay
Two teams of WVU School of Nursing faculty and staff recently participate in the Pittsburgh Marathon Relay to promote teamwork, health, and well-being. The marathon relay, held May 4 in downtown Pittsburgh, was divided into five legs of varying distances. Together, each team member in the relay contributed to running a full-length marathon.
Professor Misra brings the issue of health disparities to the national stage
School of Public Health Professor Ranjita Misra was a guest speaker at the 20th Annual Texas Conference on Health Disparities, held June 4–6, 2025. Earlier this year, she joined national experts as a grant reviewer for a National Institutes of Health Special Emphasis Panel.
