Keyser Campus sophomores work with standardized patients for hands-on nursing experience
WVU School of Nursing Keyser Campus sophomore students recently completed two simulations as part of their NSG 212 course — one on the care of a post-op patient with diabetes and another on the care of a patient with seizures who suffered a head injury.

On Thursday, April 28, the WVU School of Nursing in Beckley held a “March Madness” Championship. The game focused on questions that students may see on their National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX). All seniors are required to pass this exam before they can work as a nurse.

As part of the West Virginia University School of Nursing’s Judy C. Kandzari Memorial Lectureship, Dr. Lisa Kirk Wiese presented “Creating a Culture of Caring for Older Adults in Rural Settings” Thursday, April 28 in the WVU Health Sciences’ Okey Patteson Auditorium. Student awardees were also recognized, along with new inductees of the Sigma Theta Tau — Alpha Rho Chapter.

WVU’s top seniors named, eight honored with 2022 Order of Augusta
Emma Locarnini from Charles Town will graduate with bachelor’s degrees in music performance and biomedical laboratory diagnostics. She has served as a clarinet player in WVU Chamber Winds, the president of Mu Tau and a tutor for the School of Music.
WVU Health Sciences faculty invited to participate in adaptive sustainable health workshop
WVU Health Sciences faculty have been invited to join this interdisciplinary group of scientists and sector leaders from the public, private and international arenas. The workshop will be held May 10-11, 2022, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. EST via a virtual conferencing platform.
