Veterans can request an appointment for Veteran Oral Health Day
A limited number of appointments will be available at Veteran Oral Health Day on Friday, November 12, 2021. Veterans and active National Guard and Reserve members will receive free dental screenings, x-rays as necessary, cleaning, simple fillings and other urgent care needs based on the determination of the faculty and student dental and dental hygiene providers.

WVU to receive $2.7 million from NIH to study how the brain heals from stroke and impact of aging
Candie Brown, a researcher with the WVU School of Medicine and Rockefeller Neuroscience Institute, is exploring the role that a specific enzyme plays in protecting the brain from stroke and the effects of aging. The National Institute on Aging is awarding WVU $2,687,415 for the five-year project.

The BeWell team is offering a series of helpful tips for mental health and wellbeing called "Try This Tuesday." This week, Layne Hitchcock discusses discusses "what if" thinking, which is normal and common, and can help keep other perspectives in mind. However, "what if" thinking can become problematic whenever prolonged, chronic, or when it causes distress, anxiety, and interferes with daily life functioning.
