Virtual mindfulness holiday workshops scheduled to begin Nov. 15

Equip yourself this holiday season with a toolbox of mindful techniques designed to help transition more gracefully into the fall and winter months. Led by a team of expert instructors, this collection of workshops will teach participants a balanced mindfulness routine consisting of meditation, yoga, breathing, and mindful affirmations.

WVU faculty receive $500,000 grant to close the gap in youth access to mental health resources

To better equip West Virginia teachers and other school personnel to identify the signs and symptoms of mental health crises among students, Rawn Boulden, assistant professor, and Christine Schimmel, associate professor, of the School Counseling Program in the West Virginia University College of Education and Human Services, have received a five-year, $500,000 grant to provide Youth Mental Health First Aid Training in West Virginia schools.

Berry recognized for excellence in addiction treatment

James Berry, D.O., chair of the Department of Behavioral Medicine and Psychiatry in the WVU Rockefeller Neuroscience Institute, was recently recognized by the Addiction Policy Forum as a Pillar of Excellence in Addiction Treatment.
