Diversity Week 2022: WVU School of Nursing to lead discussions on LGBTQ nursing curriculum, rural health lessons from Zimbabwe
The WVU School of Nursing will host two events during Diversity Week, including “Factors Influencing Faculty Decisions to Teach LGBTQ Content in Undergraduate Nursing Programs: A Journal Club Discussion” and “Overcoming Challenges Associated with Rural Nursing in Zimbabwe.”
WVU encourages flu vaccination to keep community healthy
Experts predict widespread infection after two mild seasons. To promote the health and safety of our campus and local community, West Virginia University is encouraging all students, faculty and staff to get an influenza vaccination this fall.
WVU School of Nursing establishes ambassador scholarship program
The WVU School of Nursing has recently established an ambassador scholarship program on its Morgantown Campus. Led by recruitment specialist Phillip Engelkemier, the ambassador program offers a scholarship to selected students, who will serve as representatives for the school during on-campus tours, events and more.
WVU Student Nurses’ Association raises funds for childhood cancer organization during Hollywood Game Night
The WVU Student Nurses' Association raised money for WV Kids Cancer Crusaders during a hilarious "Hollywood Game Night" on Thursday, Sept. 29. Featuring WVU School of Nursing faculty and students, two teams battled it out during fun-filled mini-games, such as Hold My Balls, Trading Faces, TV ID, How Do You Doo-Et?, Block Busters and more.
Diversity Week - Dental school hosts tours, panel discussions and mini festival
The dental school diversity, equity and inclusion committee had added to the annual events for Diversity Week.
Teaching community invited to apply for peer support program
Peer Support of Teaching is a free service provided through the Teaching and Learning Commons for the WVU teaching community that pairs fellow instructors to collaborate and build skills or address challenges related to teaching and learning. Any instructor (full-time or part-time), postdoc,or graduate teaching assistant at WVU can apply.
Students invited to show off their home away from home during Fall Family Weekend
West Virginia University is excited to welcome families to campus for a weekend of fun Oct. 14-16. Fall Family Weekend, sponsored by the Mountaineer Parents Club, gives parents, siblings and friends a chance for a first-hand look at life as a WVU student.
