HSC community invited to Glenn Dillon farewell
Vice President and Executive Dean of Health Sciences Clay Marsh, M.D., invites the Health Sciences Center community to say farewell to Glenn Dillon, Ph.D., vice president for health sciences research and graduate education. There will be a reception from 3:30-5:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 19, in the HSC Learning Center Commons.
Faculty invited to School of Medicine M.D. awards ceremony
The WVU School of Medicine will host the 2015 M.D. Program Student Awards Convocation, which honors medical students and faculty members. The event will take place at 5 p.m. Friday, May 15, in Fukushima Auditorium.
WVCTSI faculty candidate lecture set for May 4
West Virginia Clinical and Translational Science Institute (WVCTSI) faculty candidate Tao Zhong, Ph.D., will present, "Regulation of Ciliogenesis and Heart Development" at 1 p.m. Monday, May 4, in room 2157 of the WVU Health Sciences Center.
Exercise Physiology Ph.D. candidate encourages WVU community to help Nepal earthquake victims
WVU Department of Exercise Physiology Ph.D. candidate Dharendra Thapa is a native of Nepal. He recently issued a plea to the WVU community to help his country and his people after a devastating earthquake hit April 25.

Surgery resident and Nepal native to discuss 'Giving Back'
WVU Department of Surgery Chief Resident Smarika Shrestha, M.D., is from Nepal and has family who lives there. She will present "Operation: Giving Back" during Grand Rounds at 8 a.m. Wednesday, April 29, in room 4080, located on the fourth floor of the Health Sciences Center. Everyone is invited to attend.
Marsh appoints Coben to HSC leadership team
Jeff Coben, M.D., has been named associate vice president for clinical innovations, planning and operations. He will report to Clay Marsh, M.D., vice president and executive dean of health sciences, and serve on his leadership team.
Special guest seminar on West Virginia health set for May 4
Alan Mills, M.D., will present "Nudging West Virginia's communities toward cultures of health" during a special guest seminar at noon Monday, May 4, in Fukushima Auditorium.
School of Medicine seeking assistant dean for admissions
The WVU School of Medicine is currently seeking an assistant dean for admissions. This position reports directly to the vice dean for education and academic affairs of the School of Medicine.
WVCTSI releases new Request for Applications
The RFA will fund up to three demonstration projects. The maximum performance period is 12 months, and budgets are limited to a maximum of $30,000 in total direct costs. Applications must be received by 5 p.m. Friday, May 8.
