WISH Committee assisting with applications for women's professional development seminar
For those WVU School of Medicine women faculty who are interested in applying, assistance is available through the HSC Women In Science and Health (WISH) Committee. Those interested in using the WISH Committee's services to complete the application process, including the letter of support and tuition assistance, should email gmarshall@hsc.wvu.edu.

WV STEPS expansion and renovation project continues
The major portion of the construction will soon be underway and will continue until October 2015. There will be noise and disruptions at times, and Facilities Management asks for faculty and staff to be patient as the work occurs.
Faculty Development Program to discuss leadership
The HSC Faculty Development Program will present “Managing the Leadership Dilemma: So Much to Do, So Little Time” from noon to 1 p.m. Tuesday, April 21, in the John E. Jones Conference Center 1 and 2.
School of Nursing to host Jenab Lectureship April 17
The WVU School of Nursing will host its annual spring event, the Lorita D. Jenab Lectureship: A Celebration of Scholarship, at 7 p.m. Friday, April 17, in Fukushima Auditorium.
WVU School of Pharmacy searching for Gates Wigner Dean
The WVU School of Pharmacy in Morgantown is seeking a highly accomplished academic leader to serve as professor and the Gates Wigner Dean. This fully funded, 12-month appointment ranks as professor with tenure. The successful candidate will be capable of achieving the research, education and service missions of the School while promoting collaborative practice and research.
Grants available for early career academic scientists at WVU
Each grant is for five years and will range from $100,000 to $400,000 per year, based on external funding and need. The awardee’s institution will be given an additional 20 percent of the yearly grant for indirect (or administrative) costs. WVU is one of the eligible institutions.
Date changed for interprofessional workshop
"Communicating Science and Health: An Interprofessional Workshop for Faculty," originally scheduled for Friday, April 10, has been canceled. The event has been rescheduled for Friday, Oct. 23. More information will follow.
WVCTSI Health Outcomes and Policy Evaluation Program receives funding from Benedum Foundation
This funding, in the amount of $300,000, will allow the HOPE Program to continue its mission of stimulating multi-disciplinary health services and health outcomes assessment endeavors in West Virginia. This will bring the Benedum Foundation’s commitment to the program to $450,000.
Benefits open enrollment for WVU employees begins Thursday
Open enrollment at WVU occurs each year in the spring and is the only time of the year for WVU employees to add, drop or make changes to benefits without a qualifying life event. The plan year runs from July 1 through June 30.
